The smartest animals on my farm aren’t my bees (although they possess the genius of the algorithm). It’s not the horses or the goats or even the dogs. The barn cat is pretty smart, but only in fairly limited circumstances, and the house cats are useless. Obviously it’s not the sheep or the chickens. Nope, the smartest
Great article.
Awesome analogies. I respect and photograph coyotes. I have no photos of raccoons but I blew two away at point blank range when I was 12: they were attacking a retired police dog, in a swamp, surrounded by tall cattails, and I had a double barrel shotgun. I tanned their pelts. King wasn’t my dog: a retired fireman was “on shore” having a coronary worrying about him. I personally have nothing against them (yet). They run up a tree in our yard and do laps on our roof, only to shoot back down the tree and peel off through the unraked leaves. Thanks for your story: a worthy read.
