  1. Bin Salman has been accumulating power since 2015. He’s been planning Vision 2030 just as early, most likely. I can buy that there’s some kind of covert understanding between Trump and the Saudis regarding Iran and maybe even the Aramco IPO, but the rest of this is pure, naked and baseless speculation.

  2. Well, if anyone knows anything about “milking” the country, it certainly would be trump.

  3. MbS has clearly been emboldened to talk tough on Lebanon, Yemen and Iran (the real object of distaste) by the Trump Administration and his pimp errand boy Kushner. This confrontational approach by MbS is a ham handed attempt to demonstrate his tribal fierceness to a collection of pampered and ill fit Saudi contemporaries. He needs to be very careful at this point.

Iran is a battle hardened Nation that SA is completely unequipped militarily to tangle with directly….Geography rules and is the foundation of Geopolitics and SA is an enormously vulnerable Nation whose assets are, literally, sitting ducks.
No matter what Kushner or even Trump may intimate and assure the United States is not and never will launch a major military effort on the scale of the two Iraq idiocies to save the Saudi’s skin. Why? They have nothing we need.

The best the Saudis might manage is Israeli support in Lebanon and Syria…but one has to ask just what greater benefit does a war confer on Israel that they don’t already have? They may well find themselves backed into a corner where they have to use a level of force and weaponry that makes the situation worse..not better.

The real danger in this budding catastrophe is that there is no real counterweight to push back against arrogant, ill advised impulses is SA. For all his bombast and contradictory BS Trump cannot militarily do what he wants…that Commander and Chief title is just that..a title. He’s the Grand Pubah of fucking nothing. The Joint Chiefs rule…no planes takes off..no Carrier battle group takes position..no troops lock and load unless the Chiefs give the order.
Another Middle East rat hole of epic proportions would be a career trasher..and those Chiefs won’t buy it….
