Trump Supporters Stone, Gorka, Hannity Lose Minds As Mueller To Publicly Unveil Indictment Tomorrow

Here’s what we said on Saturday about what’s coming up from Robert Mueller:

Of course there were the usual attempts to play this down and, amusingly, we noticed a couple of outlets suggesting that somehow this isn’t real. That seems like a decidedly risky claim to implicitly make considering that if history is any guide, a day called Monday is a real thing that usually follows Sunday. And Sunday is tomorrow. So you know, if you’re out there saying this is somehow a dubious story, you’ve got about 48 hours until your contention will be tested.

[…]

Meanwhile, you should note that stories about Hillary Clinton and uranium probably aren’t going to derail this either. It’s the same thing we’ve been saying since the very beginning: at a certain point you have to be honest with yourself.

As we also noted, “being honest with yourself” doesn’t necessarily mean you have to stop being suspicious about what Hillary Clinton maybe did or maybe didn’t do as it relates to [fill in the blank with your favorite Hillary conspiracy theory]. Rather, it’s just to say that Robert Mueller is going to indict some folks, and you’re just going to have to accept that.

Sure enough, now NBC has confirmed that “Mueller’s Special Counsel’s Office will make public an indictment on Monday.” Again, this is going to happen. Apparently tomorrow. And judging by the response of some Trump surrogates, the reality of this situation is starting to set in.

Take longtime Trump ally and Count Chocula model, Roger Stone, for instance.

Roger

Last month, after insisting to House Intelligence Committee lawmakers that he has been falsely accused of collusion with Moscow, Roger told reporters that Paul Manafort expected to be indicted. He didn’t do himself any favors when he made a mockery of the whole thing by going off on a tangent about English versus Italian tailoring on $4,000 suits. Here is that video:

Well, fast forward to this weekend and Roger isn’t joking about suits anymore. No, instead Roger is getting himself suspended from Twitter for posting this truly hilarious profanity-laced diatribe:

RS

RS2

RS3

That was all Twitter needed to see, and Stone discovered that his account had in fact been temporarily suspended. As CBS notes:

Stone provided a screenshot to [us] of the message Twitter sent him saying he had violated the Twitter Rules and had been temporarily suspended. A Twitter spokesperson said in a statement that they do not comment on individual accounts and sent a broad outline of their abusive behavior, violent threats and harassment policy.

Also angry is former White House adviser and Zangief from Street Fighter wearing glasses, Sebastian Gorka.

Gorka

“If this had happened in the 1950s, there would be people up on treason charges right now. The Rosenbergs, okay? This is equivalent to what the Rosenbergs did, and those people got the chair. Think about it. Giving away nuclear capability to our enemies, that’s what we’re talking about,” Gorka told Fox News a couple of days ago, suggesting that Hillary Clinton should actually be executed.

And speaking of Fox News, one last person who is furious about the Mueller indictments is anchor and soggy french toast stick, Sean Hannity.

Hannity

Here’s Sean’s take:

Sean

As you can see, they are in full-on damage control mode ahead of Mueller’s indictments.

And you’ve got to love the bit there where Sean says the left “needs a dramatic change in the narrative.” Uh, Sean? I think maybe you’re getting this turned around. It’s Trump who is trying to “change the narrative” by chasing after uranium conspiracy theories and reinvestigating Hillary Clinton’s e-mails while his friends are on the verge of being indicted.

Obviously, all of the above doesn’t say much for the sycophants. They are quite clearly scrambling around to figure out how to spin this and as we said on Saturday, that is an exercise in futility. Because tomorrow, people start getting indicted, and there is absolutely nothing Trump or any of the members of his cheerleading squad can do about it. Well, other than stand around in front the chaos and wave their arms…

    1. yeah, i mean all my sarcasm aside, at a certain point the spin from these people is actual fake news. as in not “fake news” like all news is “fake.” and not “spun news” like all news is spun. but literal fake news where they are basically saying that somehow Hillary Clinton and uranium means Mueller isn’t actually going to indict someone.

it’s just objectively not true. as I said yesterday, they could find out that Hillary was the Zodiac killer tonight and it’s not going to keep whoever it is that Mueller is indicting tomorrow from being indicted.

i don’t understand why they can’t be honest, because you can be honest and still say Hillary is probably corrupt. All you have to say if you’re Sean Hannity is something like this: “Listen folks, I’m not going to sugar coat this: some of the people we’ve been saying are innocent are going to be arrest in the next couple of weeks. doesn’t mean they’re guilty and it doesn’t mean we won’t keep harping on Hillary, but you, the public, need to be aware that indictments are coming. everyone is innocent until proven guilty, but this doesn’t look good folks.”

You have to admit, Gorka makes a good point here. Thanks to the Clinton corruption, there is now every chance that Russia will be able to develop its own nuclear weapons in the near future. And a country that size could pose an even bigger nuclear threat than North Korea. This is an absolute disaster.

    1. Sixth Estate

Your delivery was so straight-faced, that I almost missed the sarcasm and thought you were actually that stupid. Are you a professional actor?

    2. Re:Sixth Estate — except this was a sale of U.S. a uranium mining company to Russian company that was approved by multiple US government departments, not Hilary, and Russia has had nuclear weapons for many, many years. What you said makes no sense just like you seem to believe Gorka has a handle on this…. Follow Seth Abramson on Twitter to get another view of how bad it looks for the friends of Trump collusion and obstruction already in plain view and it is what it is….

  2. You have to wonder what it is about 69 year old H. Clinton that disturbs the Trump base to the point of pathological and illogical distraction. Come 2020 she will be 73 and isn’t likely to be a threat to any far right candidate – unless one of the Hitler grandchildren decide to run as the next alt right candidate.

Is the alt right so simple minded that they think that Trump’s election was so corrupted that there will be a new election or a turn-over of the Trump election? That religious right Pence won’t become President if Trump himself were convicted of crimes? Or, that Trump’s election will be declared so corrupted that H. Clinton will be announced the winner by default?

Really, Republican and Democrat voters have far more to worry about now than who will replace Trump, but rather how 2018 and 2020 and all future elections will run under the obvious incompetent and totally corrupted system that the 2016 elections were run under. Both parties had better get their acts together and put assemble the (virtually impossible) honest and qualified political candidates for the next election. If they fail to do this the system that the Democrat and Republican political industries feed off of is – toast – along with the fragmentary remains US democracy’ international credibility after the 2016 election of Trump. The world is watching how we handle this democratic CF of our own greedy, corrupt, monetized, for profit political making. If we do well, show and honest and just prosecution of those responsible for corrupting the 2016 election – we may have a chance to go on as respected though diminished world power. If its US political theater as usual – then Trump was truly the breaking point for the US as a global power and or an example of the benefits of a capitalistic “democracy.”
