  1. Delivering for America seems a transparent way for dems to backpedal on their plans to take a summer vacation while their constituents go hungry. That was not going so well for them

    1. Democrats’ plan calls for $3.5 trillion in spending. Republicans want to spend less than 1/3 of that. The postal service is in trouble. The president installed a major donor of his as postmaster general, who then instituted a series of “reforms” months ahead of the election which coincided with delays in mail delivery and, “coincidentally”, stepped-up criticism of mail-in ballots by The White House. The facts are the facts. What is going on here is blatant and obvious. Also, people lined up at food banks are not “their constituents”. They are both parties’ “constituents” because they are all Americans.

      1. Another fact. The checks stopped and the House was content to recess with no plan in place.

Facts are facts. Interpreting facts for motivation is a game for politicians and pundits.

  2. The Republican held Senate has shown time and time again that (even with promises to act responsibly) they don’t even try to allow anything from the Democratic held House to reel in Trump’s thinly veiled efforts to erode America’s democracy. Pelosi knows this, and no matter how strong the argument for her policy, she knows she’s up against the wall and can force nothing through without Republican approval in the Senate, and even then, if Trump vetoes it would take a 2/3’s vote to override. Mitch is as responsible as Trump is for the mess we’re in.
