  1. 2 years in office and now it is an emergency (and didn’t seem so a month ago when he was going to sign the Senate bill but Coulter et all shamed him).

  2. A state of emergency seems like Trump’s best option at this point. He can say he is still fighting for the wall and the shut down will end…….helping Senate Pubs out of this mess.
    Pelosi will no doubt welcome that decision, which will defuse Trump’s future ability to use shut downs as a legislative tool (threat).

    1. It would defuse executive threats to shut down the government as a legislative tool by instead allowing the executive to rule by decree. Congrats, America, you have an autocrat.
