NY Times: “The World Is Run By A Child”
We have long said there's a built in check on Trump's ability to build an autocratic regime in America.
And no, that check isn't "checks and balances." Rather, Trump's capacity to govern by dictatorial decree is constrained by the fact that he's a simpleton. To quote Tropic Thunder, "an imbecile; like the dumbest motherfucker to ever live."
To be sure, you can be crazy and be a dictator - in fact, being eccentric is something of a job requirement. Indeed, you can even be kinda, sorta stupid

I didn’t like our two (or three) choices either but I dare say emphatically it was not because Hillary is a crook. I firmly believe she is not a crook. Lord knows she has been investigated several times for many years and not one iota of a charge has ever been proven! Just a bunch of bullshit comments by a bunch of know-nothings has caused her great problems – and she has faced every challenge with vigor. Trump still makes accusations about that uranium crap sold to Russia. I am not going to replay that story; do your own research and you will find she was not in the position to make that “deal”. Ridiculous. I did vote for her but from day one I was concerned if she was electable because of all the years of crap – and she was also covered with the same blanket as her cheating lying husband. Then throw in the 3rd guy, Grandpa Bernie. I like that guy and I believe what he says, mostly. The part I did not like about him was that he pretended to be middle class while owning multiple properties and millions in the bank. I still kinda like him! But he took some votes that would have gone to Hillary. Then Big Mouth Liar came along and to this day he still spouts all his complete lies and rants about her being a crook, making accusations of crimes never committed. His crummy crowds chanting Lock Her Up and spreading malicious lies. And of course you do understand she did receive about 3 million more votes than he did — and it still makes him angry! His campaign people – not him because he is too stupid to figure it out – worked the states with the electoral voters that could put bigger numbers in for him. They successfully figured out how to get the brainless twit elected by a bunch of other brainless twits. It was more of a manipulation than an honest election BUT he won and she did not. I think if Bernie had run under the Democrat banner he would be sitting in the WhiteHouse.
So, not only you but a few more from Michigan and Wisconsin, made the wrong choice.
For such a cynic, H, you sure do gobble up the Trump drama without a second thought.
I think Trump as eliminated all the rational possibilities that would allow any critical thinking person to think he is more than he demonstrates in performing so poorly – daily, consistently, without pause and mostly without understanding why and how he does it. Even the dullest political hack can take good advice. How many “benefits of the doubt” can you give a guy who has daily catastrophic credibility lapses and does it so publicly – even though he has the potential to have the best advice in the world on all matters and decisions available to him – except to accept the advice and be better than he is.
Yeah, and I have to wonder about the quality of the advice giver if he sits in the same room and does not intervene in some way OR even worse, stands at a podium afterwards and tell us “it did not happen”. I will never trust another word out of that advisors mouth. Frumpy Boy is void of benefits of doubt at this time – all used up! The other thing I want to say is that instead of good advice in advance of his faux pas, those advisors circle around and make up “logical” explanations as to what was said or perceived. It is insulting to us after so many times! I think Frumpy Boy will end up in jail. That’s how stupid he is.
