Alex Jones Is Pissed At Yogurt: Chobani Sues InfoWars For Defamation

It just gets worse and worse for alt-Right “hero” and “man who could easily pass for a coked out high school football coach” Alex Jones…

Jones

As those who frequent these pages are no doubt aware, Jones has been stumbling his way through a custody battle with his ex-wife Kelly this month.

See, Kelly doesn’t think it’s such a good idea for the kids to be around Alex because Alex is… well… Alex is Alex:

Some of the amusing highlights from the court proceedings include:

  1. Jones explaining that he wouldn’t have to smoke weed “nearly yearly” if George Soros weren’t lacing it with chemicals
  2. Jones explaining that he enjoys eating zebras
  3. Jones claiming that the reason he couldn’t remember important details about his children is because a “big bowl o’ chili” makes him forget things
  4. Jones explaining that “breakfast tacos” don’t generally have the same mind-erasing powers as chili if consumed in small quantities

Something else you should note about Alex is that he recently had to issue a public apology to the owner of Comet Ping Pong Pizza for InfoWars’ role in promoting an absurd conspiracy theory about a Clinton-backed, satanic child pornography ring centered around the D.C. pizza restaurant. Here’s the apology:

Good stuff, no?

Of course that was all in fun. After all, it’s not like anyone showed up at Comet Ping Pong and fired a rifle.

Well anyway, Alex is now in even more trouble, this time for claiming that Chobani (the yogurt company) is/was “importing migrant rapists.”

Again, this is real because let’s face it, you couldn’t possibly make this shit up. Here’s AP:

Greek yogurt giant Chobani is suing right-wing radio host Alex Jones, accusing the conspiracy theorist of publishing false information about the company.

Chobani alleges that Jones and his InfoWars website posted fabricated stories earlier this month that linked Chobani owner Hamdi Ulukaya and the company to a sexual assault case involving refugee children.

The complaint says InfoWars released a video on April 11 falsely claiming that Chobani was “importing migrant rapists,” with the goal of causing customers to boycott its products.

Chobani’s attorneys say Jones has ignored requests to remove the inaccurate coverage.

Chobani filed the lawsuit Monday in Idaho District Court in Twin Falls, where the company operates its largest yogurt plant in the world. It’s seeking at least $10,000 in damages.

InfoWars didn’t immediately respond to a request for comment.

This, according to Jones, is also a conspiracy of the Soros-kind. Here’s how Alex explained things on Monday:

So that’s Alex’s version. Here’s the real story:

The suit, filed on Monday in district court in Twin Falls County, Idaho, named Mr. Jones and the media companies InfoWars and Free Speech Systems as defendants. It called “false” and “defamatory” several reports that appeared on InfoWars alleging that the company’s factory in Idaho, which employs refugees, was connected to a 2016 child sexual assault and a rise in tuberculosis cases.

The reports were published April 11 on InfoWars.com and on “The Alex Jones Channel” on YouTube. They were promoted on Twitter under the headline “Idaho Yogurt maker Caught Importing Migrant Rapists,” and were spread widely online.

The founder of Chobani, Hamdi Ulukaya, a Turkish immigrant of Kurdish descent, has been the target of right wing threats by people who accuse him of employing too many refugees in his factories, which began as a yogurt business in upstate New York and then expanded to Twin Falls, a city of about 46,500 south of Boise.

Mr. Ulukaya became the target of anti-immigrant ire after he stepped up his advocacy of refugees – employing more than 300 of them in his factories, and starting a foundation to help migrants. He and his company have been targeted with racist attacks on social media and conspiratorial articles on websites including Breitbart News.

[…]

One of the InfoWars stories that is the subject of Chobani’s lawsuit involved a 2016 sexual assault in Twin Falls that drew national headlines. The InfoWars video promoted on Twitter on April 11 reported that three children involved in the assault were refugees, and then it gave details of Mr. Chobani’s policy of hiring refugees in the city.

The Twin Falls county prosecutor, Grant Loebs, said in an interview on Tuesday that the assault case had nothing to do with Chobani

Right. The county prosecutor said the assault case “had nothing to do with Chobani.” But what does he know? He’s just the one who prosecuted it.

Of course much like his custody battle with Kelly, this is another one of those cases where being batshit crazy on camera is coming back to bite Alex on the ass. Because in the new lawsuit, Chobani notes that Jones is “no stranger to spurious statements,” having suggested the US government was behind 9-11 and that the 2012 shooting at Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newtown, Conn., was fake.

On the bright side, you can learn a lot about who Alex Jones relies on for his “information” from watching the last video clip shown above.

Do yourself a favor: watch it all the way through, as painful as that will invariably be.

And while you’re at it, make yourself a list of the “sources” he cites. You’ll have a lot of fun. I promise…

  1. sorry, I just cannot listen to him for 9 whole minutes. I will take your word for it combined with my prior experience hearing him speak. It’s not only what he is saying, it is his gravel voice too. Nope, I am done with this cretin. I find it hard to understand why the woman ever married him! If the court does not find in her favor, there is no justice. Those kids should not ever be around him, ever.

  2. “The Twin Falls county prosecutor…said he was not authorized to speak about the details because the case involved minors”
How convenient, they won’t disclose who is responsible for trafficking these particular 3rd worlders, though they will tell you who isn’t responsible if you make a public guess so you can be sued

  3. What do you want to bet that Chobani looses their law suit? The more you try to convince the public that Alex is “batshit crazy” the more his audience grows. Anyone who has watched Jones, for more than the “batshit crazy” clips that are so often point out as a means to delegitimize him, find that he is actually right on target, unlike the corporate owned main stream media that so many intellectual sheep lap up at face value.

  4. Alex woke me up from my sheeple coma that the general public falls victim to. I don’t believe anything that the mainstream media spoon feeds us.

    1. Oh? you believe Alex over media on anything? Good for you!
