Unfortunately, Alex Jones And Marco Rubio Nearly Getting Into A Fist Fight Is A Real Thing In 2018

Let me just say upfront that I’m not going to spend a lot of time on this, because it doesn’t deserve to be dignified, but in light of the current environment, it unfortunately bears mentioning.

Conspiracy theorist Alex Jones showed up on Capitol Hill Wednesday, ostensibly to make a point about social media bias against “conservative” commentary amid hearings featuring Twitter’s Jack Dorsey and Facebook’s Sheryl Sandberg.

Jones and his Infowars propaganda machine/vitamin-selling operation were banned by Apple, Facebook, YouTube and Spotify early last month, following repeated violations of the platforms’ policies and ever since, Jones has attempted to spin the bans as “evidence” to support his contention that the “globalists” and other powers-that-be are trying to stifle free speech and hide “the truth” from the public.

The reality is that Alex Jones lies to gullible people for a living. He was allowed to get away with that for years, but his ongoing dispute with the families of Sandy Hook victims and an absurd allusion to shooting Robert Mueller were a bridge too far for everyone but Twitter, which is why the companies mentioned above moved in to save viewers and listeners from themselves.

Of course Jones knows the things he says have no basis in reality. Never forget that last year, during a custody battle with his ex-wife, Jones’s lawyers admitted in court that Alex doesn’t believe much of what he says on air. “He’s playing a character,” Jones’s attorney, Randall Wilhite, argued during a custody hearing last April. “He is a performance artist,” Wilhite continued.

Needless to say, the millions of poor souls who tune in to Infowars didn’t get the memo on that, which is why they continue to send him donations and buy his ever-expanding line of nutritional supplements.

Jones didn’t go to Capitol Hill on Wednesday because he’s interested in the First Amendment or even because he cares one way or another what Dorsey and Sandberg had to say to inquisitive lawmakers. Jones went to Capitol Hill hoping to make a scene and get some publicity in order to drive traffic to Infowars. In that regard, he was successful. Here’s what happened outside the hearing mentioned above:

So that was Alex Jones, picking a fight with Marco Rubio and grabbing some camera time from real news networks in the process.

You’ll note that Jones instigates physical contact and then, when Rubio pushes back (verbally), Alex accuses Rubio of threatening him, as though Marco was the instigator in that absurd exchange. Here’s the transcript:

“Hey, don’t touch me again, man. I’m asking you not to touch me again.”

“Well, sure, I just patted you nicely”.

“I don’t know who you are. You’re not gonna get arrested man, you’re not gonna get arrested, I’ll take care of it myself.”

“Oh, you’ll beat me up. Look at him he’s so mad. You’re not going to silence me. You’re not gonna silence America. You are a little gangster thug. Rubio just threatened to physically take care of me.”

Again, don’t let it be lost on you that Alex Jones is involved in an actual legal dispute with the parents of Sandy Hook victims who have been forced to sue him for his ongoing efforts to trivialize the massacre of school children by claiming the whole thing was staged.

Now, Jones is on Capitol Hill initiating physical contact with lawmakers at a hearing convened to discuss how to go about ensuring that America isn’t corrupted by the type of poison he was allowed, until last month anyway, to disseminate through various social media platforms.

Additionally, there is no curtailment of free speech going on here. Jones is free to rant and rave via his own website to his heart’s content and God knows he gets a lot of views over there.

Finally, never forget that this is the same person who the President of the United States says has an “amazing reputation”…

    1. Decided it was worth $5 a month to get back to unlimited H! Best $5 I spend each month. Plus the guy totally deserves it for the quality of info he provides!

  1. Somehow, I feel our society is not even close to rock bottom yet. We have a “reality” TV President with tens of millions of followers who feeds off this stuff, and a Republican Congress without a spine. I wish I could retire and get out now.
