Well, here we go again.
Hours after Kim Jong-Un threatened to “tame” Trump the “mentally deranged dotard” with “fire,” Yonhap is out with this figurative and literal tape bomb:
- N.KOREA COUNTERMEASURE MAY MEAN H-BOMB TEST IN PACIFIC: YONHAP
Here’s the tweet:
(URGENT) N.K. FM says 'highest-level' actions in Kim's remarks may be H-bomb detonation in Pacific https://t.co/kRilqPNcDk
— Yonhap News Agency (@YonhapNews) September 22, 2017
“North Korea may conduct a hydrogen bomb test in the Pacific Ocean in its possible ‘highest-level’ actions against the United States,” Yonhap says, citing the North’s top diplomat.
“It could be the most powerful detonation of an H-bomb in the Pacific,” Foreign Minister Ri Yong-ho told reporters. “We have no idea about what actions could be taken as it will be ordered by leader Kim Jong-un.”
So that’s comforting. And it’s a lot like something Nikki Haley or Rex Tillerson would say: “we have no idea what actions could be taken as it will be ordered by the mentally deranged dotard.”
The reference to the “highest level actions” there is to this line from the “dotard” statement:
Now that Trump has denied the existence of and insulted me and my country in front of the eyes of the world and made the most ferocious declaration of a war in history that he would destroy the DPRK, we will consider with seriousness exercising of a corresponding, highest level of hard-line countermeasure in history.
“Kim’s remarks could re-stoke wariness over North Korea that had been subsiding,” Hideyuki Ishiguro, a senior strategist at Daiwa in Tokyo remarked. “Investors may opt to pocket profits following recent sharp gains.”
And markets are reacting accordingly, with USDJPY immediately falling…
… and gold spiking…
The Topix and the Nikkei also moved on the headline.
What can we say, but….
The “Deranged Dotard” will do N-O-T-H-I-N-G…blah..blah..blah…After we are gone from the Korean Peninsula and looking for trouble in greener and more manageable pastures No. Korea will start wolfing at China….ha..ha..ha
Greg, yep.
