Trump Orders Full Retreat Of 1,000 US Troops In Northern Syria As Turkey Plans Wider Invasion, Esper Tells CBS
"I spoke to the president last night... and he directed that we begin a deliberate withdrawal of forces from northern Syria", Mark Esper told CBS on Sunday, marking a stunning new development in Donald Trump's Syria strategy.
The US will now pull around 1,000 troops from positions near the Turkish border after learning that the Turks are planning a larger operation than originally expected.
