  1. So, here’s the thing . . . that money was spend because some people threatened violence. I may not agree with the speaker (I don’t), but the problem I see is not with him.

    The problem I see is that certain groups currently feel justified in resorting to violence. Imagine, instead, if this guy gave a speech and everyone but the crazies ignored him (mentioned as a possible scenario in the above piece.) Better yet, bring in another speaker to counter the arguments.

    We (rightly) decried conservatives threatening and perpetrating violence on behalf of their beliefs (abortion is one) but appear to condone the exact same behavior when “we agree with it.” I think that on this point, the far left is doing more harm than good.

    Think about that . . . of course we can do violence; we’re in the right! And then, we want to blame the person who came to speak for the fact that we have to protect him from our own.

    Sorry. I don’t blame the Spencers of this world, and the article is right . . . by acting like whining angry babies prone to break things if we don’t get our way, all we are doing is feeding ammunition to the other side. For that, I blame the notion that people are entitled to not being offended.
