Military Coup? Joint Chiefs Are Getting A Little Worried About Trump

I never thought I’d say this but: it might be time for a military coup.

Although the alt-Right blogosphere (well, the part of it that hasn’t been shut down by GoDaddy anyway) is still fighting the “good” fight in a laughably futile effort to pretend like Donald Trump didn’t say what Donald Trump actually said (out loud, to people with ears) on Tuesday, the rest of America is busy expressing complete and total disgust.

And while you already know that Republican lawmakers and corporate leaders have universally condemned the President’s remarks, what you might not know is that the military is getting restless.

Here’s Army Chief of Staff Gen. Mark Milley:

And here’s Marine Corps Commandant Gen. Robert Neller:

As The Hill notes, “Neller wrote the message after reports emerged that a Marine veteran and former recruiter was identified as the leader of a white supremacist group Vanguard America, which took part in the ‘Unite the Right’ rally.”

So that would be two members of the Joint Chiefs that are quite clearly upset with the President’s “position” (if that’s what you want to call it).

This of course makes sense, because as it turns out, the military once fought a war against Nazis – who knew, right?

So yeah, we can now tick the “restless military” box on the banana republic checklist.

Get ready Third World, here we come!

  1. Your level of hyperbole when it comes to Trump is laughable. A military coup? Really? You have the biggest blind spot (politics) of any learned cynic I pay attention to. I will follow as long as the market analysis keeps pumping out because it’s mostly great. I just wish you’d apply a quarter of that brain power and insight toward cutting through the emotional partisan fog that consistently impedes your vision.

      1. That Jeff guy….sure sounds like the JEFFNIX (whose crap comment suddenly evaporated the other day, right after I posted a snotty comment ) same guy this JEFF?

  2. Have I missed it or can someone explain why no one, not Democrats, Republicans or #TruthfulNews, has not called for congressional hearings into the extent to which Neo-Nazis, KKK, White Supremacists and other hate groups have inserted their people into or influence in the White House, DOJ, FBI, and the upper echelon of the Executive Branch of Government.

Trump didn’t first reveal he was one of them last Saturday. He made that clear when he led the Birther movement against Obama, with his first words when he announced his run for president, with his Muslim ban and his anti-immigration policies. His bigotry and racism goes as far back to his track record of racial discrimination in the 1970s when the DOJ sued Trump and Fred for racial discrimination because he would not rent apartments to African-Americans.

He’s always been one them and he’ll aways be one of them.

To preserve the ideals and rights envisaged by the US constitution:

    1. Americans should call for congressional hearings into the White House’s
involvement with Neo-Nazis, KKK, White Supremacists and other hate groups.

    2. Americans should call for Trump’s resignation.

    3. Americans should call for Trump’s impeachment.

    4. Americans should call for a criminal investigation into whether Trump, Bannon, Miller and Gorka and others in the Executive branch adhere to enemies of the United States, i.e., Neo-Nazis, KKK, White Supremacists and other hate groups, by giving them aid and comfort within the United States or elsewhere, in violation of 18 U.S. Code § 2381.

    1. I will sign every single one of those demands! Something like this should not have to be demanded by Americans at large. If there were more of an equal balance in our government and not such a ridiculous and paralyzing control by one party over another (ahem!) this investigation would already be underway.

It is a glaring and outrageous lack of action that stuns us all! There should be no discussion, NONE, that this ignorant moron must be removed from office immediately! The RACIST PIGS that want him in office should be imprisoned if they ever carry torches and chant and march down any fucking street in this nation again!

      1. And on similar note, Murphy, don’t be surprised if / when we learn through a leak or a former employee’s tell-all-book that either Eric, Donald Jr., or Trump have a collection of memorabilia relating to Hitler, Nazis, KKK and other such groups. It just fits.

… just waitin for that shoe to drop.

    2. It’s interesting, good and positive to see the US military can get all puffed up with self-righteous indignation regarding bigotry, racism, white supremacy – regarding Trump – even if it was only a few decades ago that they were as guilty as Trump is today. Some things have changed – are changing, too bad Trump couldn’t change with them.

  3. Marty, I think I heard that shoe drop already. Here’s one article about “all that” and there are several others!

This one was more of a big laugh only a couple months ago… maybe now, not so funny?

And we already know that daddy’s favorite book is or was always on his bedside table – Hitler’s Speeches. There are several reports of that.

These are all on Google and more too.

    – Murphy

    1. Well, Murphy, “daddy’s favorite book,” is an interesting tale. It appears that Trump confessed to having had a copy of Hitler’s Mein Kampf, and said he got it from his friend, Marty Davis, “a Jew,” from Paramount. Turns out Marty Davis is not “a Jew,” and he didn’t give Trump a copy of Hitler’s Mein Kampf. Rather, he gave Trump a copy of ‘My New Order,’ a compilation of Hitler’s speeches. Funny how Mr. Memory stepped right in it.

Now he’s got two copies of Hitler’s works, neither of which were given to him by a “Jew,” and the question arises, what’s his interest in Hitler.

This is an excerpt from a September 1990 Vanity Fair article, ‘After The Gold,’ which may be relevant to his conduct in the last few days and years:

“Although Fred Trump was born in New Jersey, family members say he felt compelled to hide his German background because most of his tenants were Jewish. “After the war, he thought that Jews would never rent from him if they knew his lineage,” Ivana reportedly said. Certainly, Fred Trump’s camouflage could easily convey to a child the impression that in business anything goes. When I asked Donald Trump about this, he was evasive: “Actually, it was very difficult. My father was not German; my father’s parents were German . . . Swedish, and really sort of all over Europe . . . and I was even thinking in the second edition of putting more emphasis on other places because I was getting so many letters from Sweden: Would I come over and speak to Parliament? Would I come meet with the president?”

“Donald Trump appears to take aspects of his German background seriously. John Walter works for the Trump Organization, and when he visits Donald in his office, Ivana told a friend, he clicks his heels and says, “Heil Hitler,” possibly as a family joke.

Last April, perhaps in a surge of Czech nationalism, Ivana Trump told her lawyer Michael Kennedy that from time to time her husband reads a book of Hitler’s collected speeches, My New Order, which he keeps in a cabinet by his bed. Kennedy now guards a copy of My New Order in a closet at his office, as if it were a grenade. Hitler’s speeches, from his earliest days up through the Phony War of 1939, reveal his extraordinary ability as a master propagandist.

“Did your cousin John give you the Hitler speeches?” I asked Trump.

Trump hesitated. “Who told you that?”

      “I don’t remember,” I said.

“Actually, it was my friend Marty Davis from Paramount who gave me a copy of Mein Kampf, and he’s a Jew.” (“I did give him a book about Hitler,” Marty Davis said. “But it was My New Order, Hitler’s speeches, not Mein Kampf. I thought he would find it interesting. I am his friend, but I’m not Jewish.”)

Later, Trump returned to this subject. “If I had these speeches, and I am not saying that I do, I would never read them.”

Sure, Murphy, he would never read them.
Or, since we now know the secret code:
      “I would never read them”
      means
      “I read all of them.”

  4. Wait…I’ve posted comments on here a time or two. I’m neither THAT Jeff above, and well…hopefully I’m not an asshole, lol.

Hey Jeff! Yeah, it’s me….another Jeff here. Lighten up, dude. Stop giving our name a bad name. It’s entirely permissible for someone to despise just about everything that Trump has done, stands for, or behaves.

He’s brought mass condemnation on himself. When’s the last time that so many screaming far-left progressives, big business leaders, Republican Party members, and religious clergy have all felt the same way about someone. HOLY COW! Look at that…..Trump really IS a great leader, isn’t he?! He’s unified so many diverse people in one common cause: opposing him. Who’d a thunk it?

    1. Well you are clearly none of the other Jeffs! I will call you Fun Jeff! haha! 🙂

and I agree with your comments completely! He can go to sleep tonight telling himself that the large percentage of America all agree about him! That has probably never happened to him before! It would sure be fun to be a fly inside that WhiteHouse today … uh oh, probably not, now that I recall he called poor Reince into the office to kill a fly for him. I would love to know how the family is handling all his fame the last couple of days. Eric is probably begging daddy to resign – Jr would be agreeing – I read recently they totally hate him being the President and even some diner owner outside the city wherever Jr goes on weekends – he said Jr does not even oil his hair down and is really a normal kind of guy away from the DC area, and he confirmed that Jr has commented several times that he is miserable being trapped in this mess.

And No, I have no sympathy and only hope they convince dumbass dad to walk away!

      – Murphy

  5. And let’s face it, we must fair to Trump. All he was doing yesterday was paying homage to a general, and you know how he loves generals, eh?

He was simply defend the integrity of The General-in-Chief of Confederate Forces, his Honor, General Robert E. Lee, by supporting those who sought to peacefully preserve the memorial erected to commemorate Lee, by using Presidents Washington and Jefferson as a fulcrum for his newly adopted White Supremacist policy position.

And to understand why Trump would draw this red line in his effort to protect the memory of this General as well as defending the honor and integrity of the peaceful and fine men and women who marched to oppose the removal of the statue while shouting “Jews will not replace us,” Heil Hitler, “Blood and Soil”***, killing a 32 year old protestor and injuring 20 others, I refer you to this bio of his Honor, General Robert E. Lee, as delivered by Lawrence O’Donnell last evening on MSNBC:

    1. Ha! so glad you caught yourself on that so fast — when I read it and saw the info on the link, I realized it was not the right one. We clearly have the same TV viewing preferences because I saw Final Word last night and Joe this morning and I realized what you had done. So I was gonna log on to MSNBC and get the right link….so glad you fixed it, saved me so much effort! HA!

I was really interested in his presentation on Lee last night for a specific reason. I graduated in 1965 from one of the high schools named in Lee’s ‘honor’ and as alumni I get stuff all the time — last year we were notified they were changing the name of our old high school and were given the Lee story – which was so different from the hero version we were given when we entered the school 1963! Once we got the notice in 2016 there was then a mass of posted comments of disappointment ranging from omg did not know the true Lee history or NO, you are changing history, don’t change the name — so listening to so much of today’s conversations, really takes me back to those same comments because they changed the name of my old high school. What a crazy world, huh?

The Quartz site I had not seen and have not even finished reading it all. I have to say the huge photo when you open the site, the beautiful green fields and home is so gorgeous until you see the field with the swastika cut into it. The story from the inside of the Nazi crowd…geez. What level of insane are these people!!? I will finish reading it today – appreciate you posting it!
