You’re going to say Mr. President it’s too much! It’s too much winning! And I’m going to say ‘no’! ‘We’re gonna win more! We have to win more! — Donald Trump
That’s your context.
So on Tuesday morning, Donald Trump decided it was a great idea to send a message to the “grandstanding” CEOs of Merck, Intel, and Under Armour regarding their decision to quit his manufacturing advisory council in response to the President’s failure to immediately and explicitly denounce white nationalism:
Note the timestamp: 11:21 AM.
Well, it took Scott Paul, the president of the Alliance for American Manufacturing, just 16 minutes to deliver his response to Trump:
Yes, “it’s the right thing to do.”
Do note that this is a man whose Twitter profile reads as follows:
Hoosier-raised fighter for factory jobs. President ofÂ
@KeepItMadeinUSA.
In other words: someone who has apparently dedicated his life to fighting for the very same pledges that Donald Trump made on the campaign trail.
Translation: this President is alienating the very people he needs to deliver on the promises he made.
And it gets better.
Remember those tiki torches that the protesters were waving around on UVA’s campus on Friday in an absurd attempt to recreate a scene out of a Klan rally?
Yeah, well … this:
How hilarious is that?
So in short: American manufacturing wants nothing to do with Trump’s manufacturing council and Tiki Brand wants nothing to do with white nationalists carrying Tiki torches.
It just gets better, and better, and better.
