If true Trump was obviously suggesting a quid pro quo without spelling it out directly so as to maintain some deniability. It would be naive beyond the pale to think otherwise. No doubt Trump is highly skilled in these techniques from his real estate dealings. The public gets a glimpse of how corruption works. If as a side effect this helps sink Biden I will be happy.
The most damning aspect of the transcript is Trump’s statement that he should meet with Giuliani to discuss the investigation into the Bidens. Rudi is Trump’s personal lawyer and not a government employee, which means that he would be acting on behalf of Trump personally and not the government. A reporter asked him the same thing and Trump side stepped by claiming that Rudi was investigating the Ukranian source of the Mueller info and Clintons server. The use of Giuliani and the Ukraine President to look for dirt on the Bidens can only be interpreted as an attempt to enhance Trump’s personal election ability.
