Donald Trump looks like he’s overdosed on Fox & Friends again this morning.
Either that, or he’s practicing for the moment when Twitter lets him tweet 280 characters at a time.
After effectively losing the Alabama Republican Senate primary for “big Luther” by turning his presidential endorsement into a rant about the NFL and on a day when he should definitely be focused on tax reform, Trump has decided to tilt at more media windmills instead.
Here’s the President:
Obviously, Trump is concerned about what everyone is going to see when Facebook turns over thousands of ads to lawmakers in the next couple of days.
“Facebook is due within days to hand US lawmakers more than 3,000 Russian-bought political advertisements that sought to exacerbate divisions in US society by promoting causes such as gun rights and the Black Lives Matter movement,” FT reported this morning, adding that “three people familiar with Facebook’s contacts with Congress said it had already shown investigators a few ‘inflammatory’ ads seemingly designed to stir-up passions over issues such as the right to bear arms and police brutality against African-Americans.”
As usual, all Trump is doing with the tweets is broadcasting his guilt to the entire world.
Also: “no”, the fact that the NY Times and the Washington Post have both been vehemently anti-Trump doesn’t count as “collusion” in the way Trump is suggesting because after all, the NY Times and the Washington Post are not hostile foreign governments. Rather, they are media outlets in a country founded in part on the principle that freedom of the press is sacrosanct.
Finally, “no,” the “people” were not “for” Donald Trump. In fact, he won the presidency based on the exact opposite of “the people” – he relied on the Electoral College. “The people” favored Hillary Clinton by a margin of something like 3 million.
Oh, and this is an outright lie:
…no President has accomplished what we’ve accomplished in the first nine months.
He has no notable accomplishments other than Gorsuch. Period.
WOW. Maybe we should all have what he is having… pass the kool-aid, please.
This is a legend in his own mind sh*t. He is in very select company as one of our presidents who has divided the US possibly like no other.
