Well, the sun’s not even all the way up yet and Donald Trump is already hard at work on making today worse than yesterday for himself.
On Wednesday, Sen. Lindsey Graham released the following statement, denouncing Trump for the President’s failure to clearly (and he still hasn’t done this) make a distinction between Nazis, the KKK and counter-Nazi/counter-Klan protesters:
Of course Graham was hardly the only person mad at Trump yesterday. Scotch Tape was pretty pissed, and so was Campbell Soup, and then there was Jamie Dimon, and on, and on, and on.
But Graham’s statement matters because it comes from a prominent Republican voice on the Hill and it’s also notable for the fact that he explicitly calls out something that Trump has gone out of his way to avoid drawing attention to. Namely this tweet that followed the President’s Tuesday presser:
Now obviously, Trump can’t control what David Duke tweets. But let’s not pretend like this is the first time and let’s not pretend like David Duke didn’t go on CNN on Saturday and say that the KKK was in Virginia specifically to “fulfill the promises of Donald Trump.” Trump could have simply called that bullshit, but he didn’t, hasn’t, and won’t.
Well anyway, Trump is incensed this morning, coming off a truly embarrassing Wednesday, and so what he decided to do first was claim that Lindsey Graham doesn’t actually care about any of this, but rather that the “real” reason the Senator issued that statement is because he’s mad about his election loss:
That’s right, folks. Trump wants you to know that Lindsey Graham doesn’t really care about white supremacists, rather, Lindsey Graham is just jealous because he isn’t President.
He, like all the CEOs who quit Trump’s advisory councils and apparently like every one else in America who isn’t named “Trump” or “Duke”, is just a “grandstanding” “publicity seeker.”
This is so comically absurd that it eludes attempts to lampoon it.
Meanwhile, Trump is still living in his own fantasy world. Read this crazy shit:
Yeah. “Shame.”
Sad!
Thinking about it though, there was a saving grace on Monday’s speech: he simultaneously alienated the left, because most felt it was too little too late, and the right, as he spoke out against them. Then comes out Tuesday to try and ‘redeem’ himself, but just fucks up the entire narrative.
And he just keeps digging, day by day. Or maybe a Russian roulette analogy would be more appropriate. Cause although that’s a fucked up thought, I can definitely see a scenario where this ends with Trump blowing his brains out. (Yes, I am keenly aware how fucked up a thought that is)
Lindsey is a pink pussy wearing turncoat. He’s a traitor and embarrassment to the Republicans. He would love to be the President but nobody would vote for him. I hate seeing his ugly little face spuing spermvenom against our President.
At first, I read your comment, and was like “wtf?” Then I read your name, and realized you’re just an idiot.
Talk about crazy shit. Who are these people versus the 34% who hang onto Trump for dear life?
From a AUGUST 3, 2017 QUINNIPIAC UNIVERSITY NATIONAL POLL:
American voters say 68 — 27 percent, including 55 — 39 percent among voters in military households, that transgender people should be allowed to serve in the military, according to a Quinnipiac University national poll released today.
Republicans opposed transgender service 60 — 32 percent, but every other party, gender, education, age or racial group supports transgender service by margins of 22 percentage points or higher, the independent Quinnipiac (KWIN-uh-pe-ack) University Poll finds.
By an 89 — 8 percent margin, American voters say it should be illegal for an employer to discriminate against an employee based on sexual orientation.
More acceptance of transgender people would be “a good thing for the country,” 46 percent of voters say, as 14 percent say it would be “a bad thing” and 39 percent say it would not make much difference.
American voters disapprove 80 — 15 percent of the way Republicans in Congress are handling health care. Even Republicans disapprove 60 — 32 percent.
Voters disapprove 64 — 25 percent of Republican ideas to replace Obamacare.
Voters disapprove 59 — 34 percent of the way Democrats in Congress are handling health care.
John, You mean …babyJim’s comment isn’t weird extreme satire & it’s serious? Poor guy must have got lost and wandered into he 21st century by mistake?
Check out this one, https://www.washingtonpost.com/news/morning-mix/wp/2017/08/17/steve-bannon-contradicts-trump-on-north-korea-talks-of-rivals-and-white-supremacists-in-unusual-interview-with-progressive-magazine/ So Bannon goes off the ranch, ask yourself why Trump lets him get away with it. First answer I come up with is that Trump is a loudmouth and Bannon now has dirt on him. Pass the popcorn while I watch the grim reaper drag his boss around. Maybe tonight will be a good night to re-watch Reservoir Dogs.
