Here we go:
- MUELLER IS SAID TO IMPANEL GRAND JURY IN RUSSIA PROBE
The problems are escalating for Trump as WSJ is out with this on Thursday afternoon:
Special Counsel Robert Mueller has impaneled a grand jury in Washington to investigate Russia’s interference in the 2016 elections, a sign that his inquiry is growing in intensity and entering a new phase, according to two people familiar with the matter.
The grand jury, which began its work in recent weeks, is a sign that Mr. Mueller’s inquiry is ramping up and that it will likely continue for months. Mr. Mueller is investigating Russia’s efforts to influence the 2016 election and whether President Donald Trump’s campaign or associates colluded with the Kremlin as part of that effort.
Clearly, this suggests Mueller is going to start issuing subpoenas and calling witnesses.
“This doesn’t mean he is going to bring charges,” Thomas Zeno, a federal prosecutor for 29 years before becoming a lawyer at the Squire Patton Boggs law firm, told WSJ, “but it shows he is very serious. He wouldn’t do this if it were winding down.”
And stocks are immediately hit…
The VIX spiked hard…
The dollar, after taking a minute or two to digest things, is in free fall…
Or, tied up and packaged with a nice bow for you courtesy of Bloomberg’s Luke Kawa, “in panel 1, the impanelling effect”…
When I first saw the headline, I misread it as “impaled”…
Nice. Somehow it makes sense amid the chaos.
Hot Damn and Hallelujah!

“He wouldn’t do this if it were winding down.” Now there’s a bright observation. Days ago Mueller hired his 16th lawyer. I suppose he could have hired him to help wind down the investigation as they needed help.
Marty — 16th lawyer who specializes in foreign bribery cases — woo hoo!

You seem like a fun one.
