Subpoena Issued For Paul Manafort

This is developing…

And it just got worse for Donald Trump.

The Senate Judiciary Committee has now subpoenaed ex-Trump Campaign Chair Paul Manafort after negotiations around his “voluntary” cooperation with the panel hit a brick wall.

Here’s the press release:

Manafort

See, this is what happens when you don’t cooperate.

And this is just another sign that despite Trump’s protestations and Twitter tirades, he is not going to be able to stonewall the multiple investigations into his campaign’s ties to Moscow.

We’ve been saying this over and over again for the past six months: you can go down with the ship if you want, but don’t delude yourself into thinking it isn’t sinking.

  1. There was no way Manafort was going to testify without immunity. They’ll never give him transactional immunity, so absent use immunity he’ll be pleading the 5th.

  2. Yes, Murphy, they can and probably have subpoenaed his phone records from his cell phone service provider, his bank records, and his emails (with encryption always being an issue) from his internet service providers. They can also obtain search warrants (based upon probable cause if the warrant affidavits comply with fourth amendment requirements) to search his computers, his home, etc.

    1. GOOD! There is no doubt in my mind they will eventually put his ass in jail — his best way out of this mess (depending upon how deep he is into this mess!) — this best way out is to cooperate fully! I feel strongly what they find thru him will snare Trump! 🙂
