Thanks Mr. President! ‘Morning Joe’ Sets Ratings Record After Trump Tweets

Right, so Donald Trump embarrassed himself and America with his tweets about Joe Scarborough and Mika Brzezinski.

Joe’s a “psycho,” Mika is “dumb as a rock,” and they both really wanted to hang out with Trump at Mar-a-Lago, but the President had to say “no!” because Mika was “bleeding badly from the face.”

Lawmakers were incredulous. The criticism came from both sides of the aisle.

It didn’t matter.

Trump went right on tweeting, branding the media “fraudulent” and then, in what might fairly be called his crowing achievement in buffoonery, the leader of the free world tweeted a looped gif of the time he participated in a WWE wrestling match, only the face of Vince McMahon had been replaced with a CNN logo.

The gif was created by a Reddit user named “HanAssholeSolo” who was probably on his way to becoming the next Press Secretary until he decided to apologize after what some people claim was an implicit threat by CNN to reveal his identity.

And yes, that is all just as absurd and surreal as it sounds.

Of course Trump’s antics have all started to backfire and in the latest example of the President’s propensity to Plaxico himself, “Morning Joe” set a viewership record last week. Here’s AP:

NEW YORK (AP) – Joe Scarborough and Mika Brzezinski reached their biggest audience ever when they talked Friday about President Donald Trump’s tweets about their show.

The Nielsen company said Wednesday that 1.66 million people watched the MSNBC morning show the day after the tweets. That narrowly beat the show’s previous record, which came the day after Trump was elected last year.

Trump, in denouncing the show last week, wrote that Brzezinski was “bleeding badly from a facelift” when he saw them around the New Year.

Friday’s “Morning Joe” proved more popular than Trump’s favorite morning show, “Fox & Friends.” Even Trump tweeted that he watched “Morning Joe” on Friday.

So far this year, “Morning Joe” is averaging 896,000 viewers, typically running second behind Fox News Channel’s morning show.

Scarborough and Brzezinski delayed a holiday vacation to address Trump’s tweets on Friday.

On the bright side for Trump, I guess he can once again claim credit for “tremendous” ratings.

  1. He even tuned in because he wanted to gloat….. so he even helped in that “tremendous” rating — I read that it was actually an all time high rating for them! So they got to begin their vacation on a high note. ha!

  2. Of course the ratings were high people wanted tune in to see what the morning Joe buffoonery is all about the fact is those people are not idiots, they’re smart, they’re educated but they’re totally wrapped up in the liberal dialogue.

That show has become a marker for liberalism and anti-trump foolishness. Tons of people are tuning in just to see how far they can go with the stupidity quote as honest media.

In many ways their high ratings are a backward compliment … they have nothing to do with the efficacy of the program, more to do with the spectator sport of watching the liberal machine unwind
