Well, it look like “what happened in Sweden” might well surpass “Frederick Douglass is an example of somebody who’s done an amazing job,” on everyone’s top 10 list of dumb sh*t Donald Trump’s said.
Since the embattled President decided to put his own spin on a Fox News story about crime in Sweden, there’s been a perceptible game of one-upmanship playing out across the internet as netizens the world over compete to see who can create the funniest Trump-Sweden meme.
Personally, I’m partial to those efforts that seek to combine Douglass humor with Sweden satire. To wit:
If only Frederick Douglass had been in Sweden when that terrible terrorist attack didn't happen. #SwedenIncident pic.twitter.com/Lxs5CLVbg4

As for Sweden itself, well they aren’t amused. As noted here on Sunday, the Swedish embassy in Washington has asked the U.S. State Department to explain Trump’s off the cuff remark.
Well on Monday, we got what is perhaps the most hilarious example of Trump trolling yet when Former Swedish Prime Minister Carl Bildt posted the following:
Last year there were app 50% more murders only in Orlando/Orange in Florida, where Trump spoke the other day, than in all of Sweden. Bad.

Congratulations America: thanks to your new President, the rest of the world thinks we’re all even stupider than they thought we were before.
