Update: Mike drops mic, walks off stage….
Donald Trump is up early on Tuesday and he’s working on new initiatives to “Make America Great Again” and pondering how to heal a divided nation.
He’s retweeting Fox & Friends.
But this morning, it looks like he might have screwed up.
A Fox story ran on Monday with the headline: “Trump ‘seriously considering’ a pardon for ex-Sheriff Joe Arpaio.” Here are the first couple of paragraphs:
President Trump may soon issue a pardon for Joe Arpaio, the colorful former Arizona sheriff who was found guilty two weeks ago of criminal contempt for defying a state judge’s order to stop traffic patrols targeting suspected undocumented immigrants. In his final years as Maricopa County sheriff, Arpaio had emerged as a leading opponent of illegal immigration.
“I am seriously considering a pardon for Sheriff Arpaio,” the president said Sunday, during a conversation with Fox News at his club in Bedminster, N.J. “He has done a lot in the fight against illegal immigration. He’s a great American patriot and I hate to see what has happened to him.”
Well, one @MikeHolden42 decided to take issue with the Arpaio pardon, tweeting the following:
He’s a fascist, so not unusual.
Now witness Donald Trump not getting it and accidentally retweeting someone calling him a fascist:
Call it a “Freudian retweet.”
Oh, and having learned nothing from the exceedingly unfortunate “Thank you Nicole” debacle, and having similarly learned nothing from the backlash he got after retweeting a looped gif of himself clotheslining CNN in a wrestling match, the President also retweeted a picture of a Trump train running over a man with a CNN logo for a head, a picture that was originally posted by what certainly looks to be another bot:
Also lost on Trump is the fact that this is probably not the best time to be retweeting pictures of people getting run over, because you know…
