Trump Jr. Tweeted E-Mails Because NY Times Had Him Red-Handed

Well, it looks like the “fake news media” isn’t so “fake” after all.

Because those e-mails that Donald Trump Jr. tweeted out earlier today were going to be published anyway and apparently, with no way around it (because you know, in America there’s a free press, much to the Trump family’s chagrin), Jr. decided the only option he had was to publish them himself on social media.

Here’s The New York Times:

Over the last several days, The New York Times has disclosed the existence of the meeting, whom it involved and what it was about. The story has unfolded as The Times has been able to confirm details of the meetings.

But the email exchanges, which were reviewed by The Times, offer a detailed unspooling of how the meeting with the Kremlin-connected Russian lawyer, Natalia Veselnitskaya, came about – and just how eager Donald Trump Jr. was to accept what he was explicitly told was the Russian government’s help.

After being told that The Times was about to publish the content of the emails, instead of responding to a request for comment, Donald Trump Jr. tweeted out images of them himself on Tuesday.

“To everyone, in order to be totally transparent, I am releasing the entire email chain of my emails” about the June 9 meeting, he wrote. “I first wanted to just have a phone call but when that didn’t work out, they said the woman would be in New York and asked if I would meet.”

He added that nothing came of it.

On Monday, Donald Trump Jr. said on Twitter that it was hardly unusual to take information on an opponent. And on Tuesday morning, he tweeted, “Media & Dems are extremely invested in the Russia story. If this nonsense meeting is all they have after a yr, I understand the desperation!”

Yeah, so that bullshit about Trump Jr. wanting to “be totally transparent” is “totally” just that – bullshit.

And this is just another example of why we need the free press and shouldn’t, under any circumstances, allow ourselves to be led down the slippery slope to an Erdogan-esque society in which a would-be dictator tries to install an autocracy by stifling dissent.

Today’s revelations are proof positive that the media is not “the enemy of the people,” as the President has repeatedly claimed.

Even if it is indeed the “enemy” of Donald Trump.

  1. Ok, let’s all read this!! http://www.alternet.org/six-signs-russia-investigation-could-blow-trump-white-house?akid=15850.2674998.oIUJca&rd=1&src=newsletter1079500&t=5

In point #1 – Daddy Trump had lunch with Manafart (I know) same day as the three guys had the meeting and then only a few hours later, Daddy Trump just could not hold back any longer and tweeted a slam on Hillary about those emails (the same ones he is still yapping about!). Makes it appear he was a participant in the collusion and also used the information to his benefit.

    1. If Manafort is singing as implied that’s bad. If Flynn starts to sing that chorus will bring down the house. Trump went all out to save Flynn, that’s not like Trump. Means Flynn must have some real dirt on Trump.

      1. If Manafart(I know) is singing, it is actually ‘good’ 🙂 ♫ ♪ ♪ ♫ And I have wondered why the hell Trump kept saying that “Flynn is a good man” even after the dust settled – not to mention Trump was told well in advance about Flynn and kept him anyway and still included him in top secret meetings! So, yes, you are probably correct about some ‘dirt’!
