Listen, it’s no so much that Donald Trump is misogynistic.
It’s just that he thinks maybe we should all treat women a little less like people and a little more like objects.
And it’s not so much that Donald Trump is against minorities.
It’s just that he wants to keep all Mexicans out of the country.
And it’s not so much that Donald Trump doesn’t like Muslims.
Again, it’s just that he wants to keep them all out of the country.
“Unfortunately,” one group of “immigrants” (to quote Ben Carson) that it’s harder to keep out of the country (namely because white people brought them here on slave ships) is African Americans.
They’re here to stay – much to Steve Bannon’s chagrin.
And while Trump hasn’t yet come up with a good enough excuse to have ICE round up all the African Americans, he can fire the ones who work for him – especially if they also happen to be women.
Which is something White House chief usher, and person who made the mistake of being black and a woman, Angella Reid found out on Thursday.
The White House has fired its chief usher, Angella Reid, the first woman and second African American to hold the position.
When the White House residence staff arrived at work Friday morning, they were told that Reid was no longer employed, according to someone with knowledge of the dismissal. A White House official confirmed that Reid is no longer working at the White House.
“We are very grateful for her service and wish her the very best,” the official said.
In case you’re wondering whether this position has a historically high turnover rate – in other words, in case you’re wondering whether this is par for the course – the answer is definitively “no.”
There have only been nine of them in the past 110-ish years.
