Trump Joins OJ Simpson, Jeffrey Epstein On List Of Totally Innocent People Represented By Alan Dershowitz

Donald Trump’s impeachment trial will feature Alan Dershowitz, America learned on Friday.

News that Alan will present oral arguments against impeachment and removal isn’t exactly a surprise. Dershowitz loves a circus and Trump is a fan.

The president has tweet-cited Alan at least 14 times over the course of his administration, dating back to the Mueller probe.

Trump will also add Ken Starr and Robert Ray (who succeeded Starr in the Clinton affair and wrote the final report) to his legal team.

“I can confirm that I will be making oral arguments at the Senate trial addressing the constitutional issues around impeachment”, Dershowitz said Friday.

Pat Cipollone and Jay Sekulow will still take the lead in Trump’s defense. The two men have demonstrated varying degrees of competence when it comes to shielding Trump from the barrage of incoming legal fire. You’ll forgive any missteps they may have made – after all, Trump is a hostile client.

“Pat and I will be leading”, Sekulow remarked, in comments to Bloomberg. “We’ll be the constants”.

Here’s a statement from the team:

Professor Dershowitz will present oral arguments at the Senate trial to address the constitutional arguments against impeachment and removal. While Professor Dershowitz is nonpartisan when it comes to the constitution — he opposed the impeachment of President Bill Clinton and voted for Hillary Clinton — he believes the issues at stake go to the heart of our enduring Constitution. He is participating in this impeachment trial to defend the integrity of the Constitution and to prevent the creation of a dangerous constitutional precedent.

Frankly, there’s not a lot to add here. You can write your own jokes. This is another made-for-TV spectacle courtesy of the modern P.T. Barnum.

Trump now joins a dubious list of Dershowitz clients including the famously “innocent” O.J. Simpson and, of course, Jeffrey Epstein.

As a side note, Dershowitz is still engaged in a somewhat convoluted attempt to explain precisely what he knew about Epstein’s activities. Suffice to say questions linger, but asking too many of them might land you in litigation or get you maligned on Fox. He maintains he did nothing wrong. Epstein will not be refuting that contention.

  1. so he’s trying to gain publicity through this trial. fine Dershowitz, but don’t pretend it’s under the guise of a moral obligation to the constitution. Trump tried to exchange political favors for federal aid money. there’s no arguing around that.
