    Interesting insights from Mr. Dalio.

    Historically, trade wars seem to be part of the ‘total war’ continuum. They usually start with a currency war (Obama took this to a new level in 2010); then progress to a trade war; and eventually escalate to a shooting war.

    We can only hope President Trump is using this tactic as a negotiating gambit. That seems to be what he’s good at. It’s funny how Beijing suddenly summoned rocket boy to board his personal train and commute to Beijing for a face-to-face chat.

    That was very unusual — and probably not a coincidence!
