Alex Jones Is Not A Fan Of ‘Drag Queen Story Hour’

Over the past 10 months, America has undergone a rather rapid transformation.

What was still a “shining city upon a hill” in January has devolved into a combination of Sesame Street, professional wrestling, and Days of our Lives in just under 275 days. When you think about it, the efficiency with which Donald Trump has turned American politics into a reality TV show is pretty remarkable. Everyone knew the country would never be the same after four years of Trump, but he’s exceeded even the most wildly pessimistic forecasts when it comes to turning America into a standing international joke.

Well needless to say, part and parcel of this transformation is the alt-Right media and when it comes to batshit crazy propaganda, nobody does it “better” than InfoWars founder and overcooked Butterball turkey, Alex Jones:

Alex

Alex has racked up a truly impressive list of “accomplishments” over the past 12 months that includes, but is certainly not limited to, being forced to apologize for suggesting that the owner of a pizza parlor was running a child porn ring at the direction of Hillary Clinton, being sued by Chobani for suggesting that the yogurt maker was conspiring to destroy Idaho at the behest of George Soros, being exposed by John Oliver for using InfoWars to push a line of dubious vitamin products, and contending in open court that “big bowls of chili” are to blame for his failure to remember the names of his children’s teachers.

Ok, so this week, Alex learned about something called “The Drag Queen Story Hour” which, according to the website, “is just what it sounds like–drag queens reading stories to children in libraries, schools, and bookstores.” Here’s a bit more:

DQSH captures the imagination and play of the gender fluidity of childhood and gives kids glamorous, positive, and unabashedly queer role models. In spaces like this, kids are able to see people who defy rigid gender restrictions and imagine a world where people can present as they wish, where dress up is real.

Note that this isn’t really “news.” This has been featured in nearly every mainstream media outlet in America including The New Yorker, the New York Times, NBC NewsCBS NewsAssociated PressCosmopolitan, and on, and on.

But apparently, it’s “news” to Alex. And if you know anything about Alex Jones, you know that “Drag Queen Story Hour” is not an initiative that aligns well with the “values” espoused by InfoWars.

Jones is particularly vexed with the following image which depicts performer Xochi Mochi reading to kids as part of the DQSH at the Michelle Obama Neighborhood Library earlier this month:

Drag

Pretty much everything about that picture plays right into Alex’s angry hands and rather than try to communicate to you just how angry he is about it, we thought we’d just let Jones tell you himself….

Now then, allow us to present (again), two Presidents describing Alex Jones.

Here’s what Donald Trump thinks about Alex:

And here’s President Obama’s take:

  1. The guy (Jones) is a total fraud and performance artist himself. I’m sure he welcomes the opportunity given to him by Michele Obama and whoever created this program to create his own side-show – probably worth millions in sales of vitamins or whatever else he is peddling.

That said, the “DQSH” is a sideshow itself, promulgated by the other team to provoke a ridiculous response from people like Jones. They feed on each-other, and both profit, by design.

Furthering diversity awareness and sensitivity from a young age is a worthy cause, but I have a feeling that most parents would probably opt their kids out of a program like DQSH just on the basis of its name. Similarly, I’m thinking most parents would block access to Jones – but who knows.

Wise parents would enrich their children with the knowledge of how both of these “shows” are intended to manipulate them in the direction the purveyors are inclined to direct them.

  2. Parents are uncomfortable having “tolerance” shoved into their children’s heads by agenda-driven activists. A more subtle “dress up for real,” including gay, straight, male, female, bi, trans, etc. would more effectively introduce diversity. Otherwise, it’s divisive identity-baiting.
