CNN: Russia May Have “Derogatory Info” On Trump Other Than The Prostitutes Thing

I’m not entirely sure what Donald Trump and his team were thinking in 2016, but apparently, experts at espionage they are not.

And maybe that’s where Moscow miscalculated. I’m sure the Kremlin realized they weren’t dealing with the brightest crayons in the box, but it might not have occurred them just how stupid their accomplices in the US truly were.

Meanwhile, it’s no longer 100% clear to me that the Russians were themselves very careful about whatever it is they were up to with Trump associates. Because a whole lot of what went on seems to have been picked up on intercepts which you’d certainly think Moscow would have had the wherewithal to evade.

Just this morning for instance, we got the latest leak from the intelligence community. This time, two unnamed former intel officials (and one source on Capitol Hill) told CNN that intercepted communications suggest the Russian government has “derogatory information” about Trump and top aides.

According to the intercepts, Moscow believes (or at least they believed it when the President was still “candidate” Trump) Russia has “the ability to influence the administration through [that] derogatory information.”

Now apparently, this “derogatory information” doesn’t pertain to Russian prostitutes (“the best in the world,” you’re reminded) pissing on beds, but rather to financial matters. Additionally, the intelligence sources told CNN that the Kremlin might very well have been just making shit up (“could have been exaggerated or even made up”).

But really that doesn’t matter at this point, does it?

I mean there’s not always fire when there’s smoke, but there’s so much goddamn smoke here that we’re all choking on it.

“This is yet another round of false and unverified claims made by anonymous sources to smear the President,” the White House insisted today, adding that “there appears to be no limit to which the President’s political opponents will go to perpetuate this false narrative, including illegally leaking classified material.”

But come on, is anyone out there still buying that bullshit? So all these people are lying? Every single person who has come out with information about Trump’s ties to Moscow is lying?

And The New York Times, CNN, WaPo, The New Yorker, and really every single media outlet in the country that’s not called “Fox” is just making all of this up and fabricating sources out of thin air?

The intelligence community is engaged in a vast conspiracy to undermine this President and none of what they’re saying has any merit whatsoever?

That is nonsense. It’s not even “sort of” believable. These people have been caught red fucking handed (figuratively and literally).

Make no mistake, there is indeed a vast conspiracy here. But it’s not that some imaginary “American deep state” is out to undermine the President for no reason. The conspiracy is that this administration colluded with a hostile foreign power to undermine America’s democracy.

  1. The question that no one seemed to be asking is ‘Exactly what would constitute proof of collusion?’ Apparently something more than what we already have. We have to give the Russians credit; they might well have known what they could get away with, given our inept Congress. The other side of it, I think is that the Trump enterprises had determined that they wanted to lots of business in countries with different views of ‘corruption’ than what we have in the U.S. A profitable deal for both sides apparently.
