“Do I Think? Yes, I Think” Trump Says Susan Rice Is A Criminal

Folks, this is becoming so predictable and so transparent that it borders on the surreal.

It was just an hour ago when we brought you “Are You Buying The Susan Rice Diversion? Try This Thought Experiment.”

The point was simple. The White House is using a series of smoke screens and diversions in a desperate attempt to fool the public with an increasingly ridiculous shell game. This monumental effort has one purpose: to distract from the mountainous pile of evidence that suggests Trump affiliates colluded with the Kremlin.

Here’s how WaPo explained it earlier today:

“When Gen. Michael Hayden visited a secret intelligence facility in the United States a decade ago while he was CIA director, the staff gave him a T-shirt emblazoned with the words “Admit Nothing. Deny Everything. Make Counter Accusations.”

That motto is much-beloved by covert operators. It also seems to be President Trump’s rubric for responding to the FBI investigation of whether any members of his campaign team cooperated with Russian hackers. Maybe it’s becoming our national slogan.

Part and parcel of this effort is making things that aren’t material sound like they are not only relevant, but in fact “bombshells” (as we sarcastically put it in our assessment of the unfolding Susan Rice drama).

Well allow us to present Exhibit A of this very same dynamic which finds Donald Trump calling the Susan Rice ordeal “one of the big stories of our time.”

Via NY Times

President Trump said on Wednesday that he thought that the former national security adviser Susan E. Rice may have committed a crime by seeking the identities of Trump associates who were mentioned on intercepted communications and that other Obama administration officials may also have been involved.

“I think it’s going to be the biggest story,” Mr. Trump said in an interview in the Oval Office, declining repeated requests for evidence for his allegations or the names of other Obama administration officials. “It’s such an important story for our country and the world. It is one of the big stories of our time.”

He declined to say if he had personally reviewed new intelligence to bolster his claim but pledged to explain himself “at the right time.”

When asked if Ms. Rice, who has denied leaking the names of Trump associates under surveillance by United States intelligence agencies, had committed a crime, the president said, “Do I think? Yes, I think.”

May the farce be with you.

  1. He can try and distract the investigation away from his Russia connections by pointing at how many more people? American intel pretty much has told us all – including Chief Idiot too – they see nothing wrong in Rice’s activities. He can play his game all he wants and no one trusts him, no one believes a word that comes from his mouth, no one believes he is smart enough to even understand his bullshit only makes him look more guilty.
