Republican Congressman Doesn’t See What’s So Wrong With A Little Ethnic Cleansing

So last week I explained that Oklahoma lawmaker John Bennett just wants to know if all Muslims beat their wives.

I mean come on, folks. Is that such an unreasonable request? If someone from another faith wanted to visit you in your office, wouldn’t your first order of business be to use a strict interpretation of their holy text to form a questionnaire so you could determine, prior to them sitting in front of your desk, if they likely assaulted their spouse earlier in the day?  Sure it would. Never mind the fact that if you used a strict interpretation of your own holy text, the questionnaire you would get were the tables turned, would be equally offensive.

Along these same lines, you can understand why U.S. Rep. Steve King, an Iowa Republican, really, really seems to think that America would be a lot better off with a healthy dose of ethnic cleansing. Here’s what King told CNN:

Again, what’s the big f*cking deal?  King just thinks that maybe it would be better if we tried a little harder when it comes to creating an American master race.

Oh, and just to connect the dots for anyone out there who might still believe that I’m overplaying the extent to which Steve Bannon, Marine Le Pen, Frauke Petry, and Geert Wilders are all connected and do indeed represent an existential threat, just have a look at what the above-mentioned King tweeted on Sunday:

Any questions?

Republican Congressman Steve King Is Really Leaning into This Whole White Supremacy Thing

Iowa congressman Steve King has a long history of spouting racist nonsense. This is a man who proudly displayed a confederate flag on his desk, despite Iowa being, you know, a Union state. But you might also remember him from the shameful disaster that was the infamous no “subgroup of people” has contributed more to civilization than white people thing, which he said on national television:

“This whole ‘old white people’ business does get a little tired, Charlie. I’d ask you to go back through history and figure out where are these contributions that have been made by these other categories of people that you are talking about? Where did any other subgroup of people contribute more to civilization?”
